Marriage is a gift from the Lord and I am beyond grateful that God chose Zack for me. I am excited for Oneness (Ephesians 5:31) with him because of who Zack and how his character reflects Christ. I love Zack deeply and am excited to be his bride.
Although I am excited for marriage and overjoyed to live in this covenant, marriage was never a promise and my hope was never in marriage. I was hopeful someday I would be married, but my hope has been and will always be in Jesus. Marriage only points to a greater joy, hope, fullness, love and glory.
1 Peter 1: 18-21 says this, “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.”
