A Modern Wedding at Union House

Dallas Weddings, Weddings

Bekah and Matt were married Friday, October 13 and had a modern wedding at Union House, a North Texas wedding venue in Cleburne. This venue features a neutral black and white aesthetic and is the perfect modern backdrop for any sophisticated and elegant couple, like the Lattins. Every detail was thoughtful and the day flowed flawlessly, planned and executed by the amazing, Lauren of RaeRAY Design and her team.

Modern and Neutral Florals at Union House

I am not supposed to have favorites, but I was blown away by the florals that House of Honor designed for Matt + Bekah’s special day. They were simple with a white palette and yet unique and absolutely stunning and complimented Bekah’s modern gown so well. Even though we had a separate studio bridal session prior to the big day, I was so grateful Bekah included extra time for individual bridal portraits on her wedding day with all the amazing florals because they were so stunning. (If this is something that is important to you, I highly recommend building it into your timeline early on!) I typically LOVE color, but this wedding stands out as one that used neutrals so beautifully.

Things I love about this modern wedding

I noted several things I loved about this wedding. The first has to include Bekah + Matt themselves. They seemed so calm and peaceful all day, allowing the day to truly run so smoothly. This made capturing their wedding day and their love an easy task for me. The connection they have is one deeply rooted and genuine and noticeable to those around them.

Choosing the right vendor team

They also were really intentional in their vendor team selection and I think this also contributed to their experience and the flawless day. From hair and makeup, venue, video, photo and more, they selected vendors who all share a similar faith in Jesus as they do. This isn’t required for a smooth wedding day, but I can’t ignore that it felt intentional as they dreamed up their dream day. In the same way I hope I served them well, I also felt incredibly cared for (while 5 months pregnant) and loved by their people as more than a vendor on their wedding day.

Include what/who is important

I also loved that Bekah’s dad officiated their wedding which was so sweet! It’s rare that a bride is also a pastor’s kid and the unique role he got to play on their wedding day, as both the father of the bride and the officiant, is extra special to witness and photograph.
