A year in review!

Weddings

It’s the end of 2023, which seems like the perfect time for a year in review. This year, in November, I hit my 9th year anniversary of being a wedding photographer. It’s the year I quit my full time job as a graphic designer to go all in on weddings and then soon after found out I am pregnant with our son (due in just a few weeks!) To say it has been a year of exciting changes is no understatement. I still can’t believe I get to do this full time now all while staying home with our son. It’s a dream come true. When I think about 2023 weddings, I can’t help but consider the amazing couples I was able to photograph this year. Finding your “niche” or “ideal client” can be challenging and take time over the years, but I feel so grateful that SO many amazing couples (who often feel like friends) invited me to capture their wedding day this year. I got to photograph 15 incredible weddings across DFW and North Houston this year, several of which will appear in the February print magazine of Wed Society North Texas.

I feel like with each wedding I capture, I am only playing a small role in the beauty and connection that is each wedding day. This year I was able to work alongside some of the most incredible vendors Texas has to offer and cannot wait to continue to build friendships and relationships in the industry as I have more dedicated time to photography in 2024.

Each year, and every couple I photograph, comes directly from organic instagram searches or from referrals of those who have loved my work in the past. If you have referred anyone to me in the past 9 years, I truly can not thank you enough. Jumping in full time is such a sweet opportunity to trust the Lord and His provision each month. It’s also exciting to see how my work will continue to shift, change and how I’ll continue to grow as a creator and business owner to better serve future couples in the years to come.

I am excited about the amazing couples I’ll get to photograph so far this year! It’s going to be a good one. I am about half booked for 2024 so if you are newly engaged, don’t hesitate to reach out, but don’t stress either 🙂 To fill out an inquiry, just click here.
